Dr. Kattis Stengard was born in Sweden and grew up mostly in Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine, she enjoyed working with horses, dogs, and cats here in Vero Beach. Dr. Stengard then moved to Boston to join a larger small animal medicine and surgery Hospital. During this time she completed training in Acupuncture through the rigorous International Acupuncture Society and has been Certified since 1999. Dr. Stengard incorporates Acupuncture for many different types of ailments as it speeds healing and comfort.
After 10 years in Massachusetts, Dr. Stengard and her family returned to warm and sunny Vero Beach to open a house call practice benefitting pets happiest in the comfort of their homes. When the need came to expand in 2008, Dr. Stengard bought Pinewoods Animal Hospital and renamed it Vero Beach Veterinary Hospital. Here she enjoys seeing all types of pets from dogs and cats to birds and marmosets.
